More Uni work.... First off, an A3 booklet illustrating a short story from a fascinating book called Sum by David Eagleman.

This is perhaps one of the more time consuming projects I've ever done. Titled 'Archetypes', the brief was simply to choose 20 characters from a list of over 90 and illustrate them in a collective format. I produced these as individual cards and an A2 poster. Chuffed.

These first three are for a university project called 'illusion.'

These two were part of a mini project where we made characters out of collaged elements from other images.

Firstly, apologies once again, long time no post.

The first picture and subsequent 3 double page spreads are for a uni project. We were given a list of titles for an 8 page booklet, from which I chose 'American Taxidermist.' The choice of black and white was mainly down to time, but I think this may be the first 'comic' I've done that I actually like.

These next two are from my most recent uni project, designing characters for a cut out theatre.

I started a sketchbook about a month or so ago that I wanted to keep to purely ink drawings. Surprisingly I finished it within a month. It's mostly studies from photos and life, although a few of the faces and the weird monk are from me noggin. These are what I consider selected highlights...

Four pieces for a Norwich architecture festival, based on a specified area of the city, "Tombland.'

Self portrait (with mandatory tree included). Originally in ma sketch book, then photoshopped to within an inch of it's life.

'Nother sketch book piece, double page spread hence the weird lines in the middle of the piece...

This is a varied bunch of new stuff... The first three are illustrations as part of a 'personal profile pack,' whatever that's supposed to mean....

Graphic design work for Uni. 'One Word Poster'

Illustration work, again for uni. We were asked to chose a painting and extend the narrative, producing two illustrations. The middle image is my choice, a painting by Peter Doig called 'Metropolitan (House of pictures).

These last three are personal work that I've done in the last coupla months... Treemen are still forthcoming....

Howdy doody. I replaced the self portrait in the last post with a revised one, mouth was bugging me.

anyway, heres some other things. An adulterated mini munny I systematically ruined with a sharpie, a hel-looks.com study that I thought turned out nicely, and a couple of traditionally inked photoshop experiments.

Edit: oh, and heres summat else i just finished.

It's blog time. And it's way overdue.

My name is Rupert and I'm an illustrator, or a serial attemptee... I dunno. Anyway, right on with the work, gotta start somewhere. These are my recent sketchbook pages, dodgy fake ad strip followed by some posemaniacs.com (awesome site) studies.

I'll leave it at that for now, seeing as I'm having problems arranging the text and images in a coherent way, blogging beginner that I am.
